Wildlife Workshops
Information

Please take a moment to read through the following information.

Wildlife Workshops are one day courses designed to allow an in-depth look at a particular topic. Our small groups, carefully chosen venues and excellent local knowledge make these Wildlife Workshops ideal for anyone that wants to take an in-depth look. Everyone is welcome, from complete beginners to more experienced naturalists.

The Workshops
* Last one day, from 10 am till 4 pm. The whole day may be spent in the field, or we may combine work indoors with time in the field.
* The pace is relaxed, with plenty of time to stop and look, ask questions and take photographs, and we generally cover easy terrain, although on the coast we may have to walk over loose sand or shingle, and courses that visit areas of fen or bog can involve heavy going over short distances. (Please note that our events are not suitable for those who have difficulty in walking unaided - please contact us if you are in any doubt.)
* The maximum group size is 8 plus the leader.
* Children aged 12 and over are welcome if accompanied by an adult.

Guides
All our Workshops are led by long-time residents of Norfolk with many years experience in natural history (see About Norfolk Nature).

Equipment
* No special equipment is necessary, but binoculars are useful to look at birds, butterflies and dragonflies, and a hand-lens is useful for plants and small insects (we can lend you a hand-len and give instruction on their use, and will also have a range of field guides to hand).
* A list of recommended field guides and other literature will be supplied when you book.
* You will need stout walking shoes or boots. Some walks visit areas of bog or fen, and for these wellington boots are essential (and 'wellies' can also be useful if there has been recent rain or a heavy dew).
* Norfolk summers are as unpredictable as elsewhere so please come prepared for wind and rain, even if on the day you leave your jacket or waterproofs in the car.

Prices
The cost of a Workshop is £35 per person per day. Parking fees and entrance charges are not included, but members of the RSPB, Norfolk Wildlife Trust and National Trust may receive concessions, so please bring your membership cards. Meals, drinks and snacks are also not included in the price.

Booking
All Workshops must be booked in advance. Send a cheque for £35 per person, per walk (made out to Simon Harrap) to 1 Norwich Road, Edgefield, Norfolk, NR24 2RP. Do not forget to include your name and address, telephone number and, if you have one, your e-mail address, and the details of the Workshop that you wish to book. Feel free to contact us by phone (01263 587736) or e-mail (simon@norfolknature.co.uk) if you have any questions. Please read our Booking Information prior to making a booking.

Norfolk Nature Gift Vouchers
Why not give a friend or relative a great day out? Depending on their value, Norfolk Nature gift vouchers can be exchanged for a Wildlife Workshop, or for a Wildlife Walk or Wild Orchid Walk.

Bespoke Wildlife Workshops
